The AntiRacist Alliance is a movement to undo structural racism. They are an organizing collective of human service practitioners and educators whose vision is to bring racial equity to human service education and practice. To date they have offered 62 Undoing Racism workshops to over 2600 providers, and it makes a difference. Sometimes other people in community organizations and the general public take these excellent workshops; some Dorry’s folks have been part of them. Members of the AntiRacist Alliance will share the good news about their efforts and successes.

M I N D
Happy new year!
2010 is shaping up to be an exciting and active one for Methodists in New
Directions (MIND). The steering committee has been busy online, drafting
proposals, discussing strategy, brainstorming speakers, starting planning
for our annual conference witness and more. We are ramping up outreach for
the Believe out Loud training on February 20 and beginning planning for the
new worship gathering we will hold before our usual general meeting on
April 17. We’re also beginning work in earnest on a MIND Web site and
online newsletter.
As always, what makes MIND’s initiatives and witness powerful is its
connection to the grassroots of the church, local congregations – you! The
steering committee will meet at the end of next week, and we invite and
welcome your feedback, ideas, hopes and dreams for the upcoming year of our
work. The more people we hear from in the next week, the richer our
deliberations will be at our meeting. Whether it’s a speaker suggestion for
annual conference, or a seemingly “pie in the sky” vision you have for a
fully inclusive church, share your ideas with us! Send ideas to
DrBenz3@verizon.net .

SANCTUARY
Every third Thursday of the month, 6:30pm
Led by Rev. Sara Thompson Tweedy
Music led by Rev. Eric Jennings
Sanctuary is a spiritual gathering devoted to and expressly for the LGBTQ community and their supporters. Because this community struggles for inclusion, we have created a safe space for all persons to worship, question, and trust their own inner wisdom. In a contemplative atmosphere that draws on the teachings of many spiritual traditions, we learn to trust what we believe and give our innermost thoughts and feelings an opportunity to rise from within us. - Join us for an hour of reflection, worship, and fellowship where we can all be who God created us to be.
Join us after the service (7:30pm) for movie night at the LOFT, Westchester’s LGBT community center, housed right at Memorial.
This flyer produced by Methodists in New Directions (MIND). MIND is a conference-wide organization of United Methodists working to end our denomination’s doctrinal prejudice and institutional discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and committed to living more fully into God’s radical Welcome right now and right here.
